Students in our MFACS chess classes have showcased remarkable competitive strength since the beginning of 2024, participating in numerous in-state and out-of-statechess tournaments and achieving commendable results!

 

 

在2月3日举办的2024年Shorewood Hills Chummy Chess Championship比赛中，我们童心象棋队的学生们大放异彩，展现出了令人瞩目的比赛精神。其中Gordon在K-5级别赛中独拔头筹获得个人第一名。K-8级别的学生Arthur 和Aethon分别赢得个人第五和第七名，并勇夺团体第二的荣誉，而K-12级别的学生Jerry、Max、Anson也纷纷斩获个人奖项，并荣登团体第三名。这些小选手们的象棋才华和团队合作精神值得我们高度赞扬和鼓励！

In the Shorewood Hills Chummy Chess Championship held on February 3, our chess team shone anddemonstrated remarkable competitive spirit. Among them, Gordon won the first place in the K-5 level competition. In the K-8 level, Arthur and Aethon secured the fifth and seventh places respectively, leading the team to win the second place. In the K-12 level, Jerry, Max, and Anson also clinched individual awards, landing the team the third place. The chess talent and teamwork spirit displayed by these young players deserve high praise and encouragement!

 

 

3月23日，威斯康辛州有近400名学生奔赴UW Oshkosh，参加了一年一度的威州学者国际象棋锦标赛。我们的童心象棋队也再次展现实力，赛出了自己的水平。其中Drake在K-8级别个人赛中不畏强敌勇夺第四名，而Anson第一次参加就在K-5级别个人赛中斩获了第九名的好成绩。

On March 23, nearly 400 students from the entire state of Wisconsin converged at UW Oshkosh to participate in the annual Wisconsin State Scholastic Chess Championship. Once again, our team showed their own level and prowess in the competition. Fearless against strong opponents, Drake secured the fourth place in the K-8 individual competition, while Anson achieved an impressive ninth place in the K-5 individual competition in his debut.

 

 

此外，童心象棋班的部分学员还参加了包括2024 MCDS Chess Championship，Rapid and Blitz State Championship，和Midwest Regional Championships – Scholastic等国际象棋公开赛，都取得了优异的成绩！我们中校为孩子们不断进取的勇气和顽强奋斗的精神深感自豪和鼓舞，并期待着看到他们在未来的比赛中再接再厉！

Additionally, some of our students also participated in 2024 MCDS Chess Championship, Rapid and Blitz State Championship, and Midwest Regional Championships (Scholastic). We are proud and inspired by the courage and resilience demonstrated by our students, and we look forward to seeing them strive for excellence in future!

 

 

 

童心象棋班的优秀成绩离不开我们教练Tony老师的悉心指导。自2017年1月以来，Tony老师先担任象棋班助教，并自2018年9月起担任主教练至今。他水平过硬，认真负责，深受学生和家长们的喜爱。Tony老师不仅在赛前为学生们开设棋赛备战课，提供比赛所需用具，还传授了丰富的比赛实战技巧。赛后，老师还会在课堂上对比赛进行复盘，帮助学生们从纠正错误中吸取经验，不断提高象棋水平。

This brilliant performance of our chess team is inseparable from the careful guidance of our coach, Tony. Since January 2017, Tony has served as a teaching assistant for the two chess classes and has been our head coach since September 2018. He is highly skilled, diligent, and well-loved by our students and parents. Tony not only conducts tournament preparation classes and provides necessary equipment for students, but also imparts a wealth of practical gameplay skills. After the tournaments, he conducts post-match analysis sessions to help students learn from their mistakes and continuously improve their chess skills.

 

 

童心中校还有两位象棋班助教老师Jayden 和Neo，他们都是从象棋高级班里培养选拔出的优秀学生。助教老师们不仅需要配合主教练的教学并帮助初学者提高，还要在课堂实践中学习和成长，以实际行动诠释他们想成为象棋高手的决心和将来成为象棋班教练的潜力。助教们不仅能有资格申请美国政府颁发的总统义工奖，还能获得我们中校提供的更多福利和发展机会。我们中校鼓励更多有志成为助教的象棋高级班学生及家长提前填写助教申请表，为将来的发展树立更高更长远的目标。

We also have two teaching assistants for our chess classes, Jayden and Neo, both of whom have beenoutstanding students selected from the advanced chess class. Teaching assistants not only need to assist the head coach in teaching and helping beginners improve during the class, but also need to learn and grow through their classroom practice, demonstrating their determination to become chess masters and potential to become chess class coaches in the future. Our teaching assistants not only qualify for the President's Volunteer Service Award but also receive more benefits and development opportunities provided by our school. We encourage our students (and parents) interested in becoming teaching assistants to fill out the Teaching Assistant Application form, setting higher and more long-term development goals.
