2024 Children's Painting and Calligraphy Contest Now Calls for Entries!
迎新春·童心童画少儿书画比赛正火热报名中！
The Children's Painting and Calligraphy Contest for Spring Festival is now accepting submissions for entries! We invite young art enthusiasts from Madison and its surrounding areas to participate in the "2024 Children's Painting and Calligraphy Contest" hosted by MFACS. All participants will receive awards. There will be fantastic prizes await your creative masterpieces! Outstanding artworks will also be showcased in a special exhibition at our school. Let's bid farewell to the Year of the Rabbit and welcome the Year of the Dragon with joy!
为庆祝即将到来的中国龙年，本次比赛征集以“龙”
To celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year of Dragon, this contest calls for creative works from young artists with the “Dragon” theme. We hope to promote communications among young people, enhance the understanding of Chinese culture among overseas Chinese descendants, and inspire their love and innovation for the traditional culture. This contest is an offline event requiring submission of original works, with no registration fee. Details are as follows:
一、 作品主题：
1． 能围绕传统生肖龙为主题，
2．展开丰富的想象力，结合中华传统文化自由创作的书画作品。
I. Theme of the Works:
1. The theme of the painting and calligraphy works is preferred to be focused on the traditional zodiac animal, dragon, and depict the cultural significance and stories of dragons from children's perspectives or imaginations.
2. Use your imagination and create freely inspired by Chinese traditional culture.
二、 投稿要求：
1．原创作品为最优选。需立意新颖，主题鲜明，内容积极向上。
2. 作品尺寸以 9 in x 12 in为最佳选。需画纸平整，无需装裱。
3. 绘画创作表现形式不限。水彩、水粉、国画、油画、版画、
II. Submission Requirements:
1. Original ideas are preferred, with clear themes showing fresh and positive concepts. Each author is limited to one entry.
2. The optimal size for the artworks is 9 in x 12 in. The paper should be flat without mounting.
3. There are no restrictions on the artistic form of artworks. Watercolor, gouache, traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, animation, and other types are all acceptable.
三、投稿方式：
1．免报名费。需交作品原件。
2．校内家长请统一在2月18日（周日）
3．校外家长请加学校微信号“童心之家”咨询详情。
4．所有报名参赛的小作者家长都需填写参赛登记表，
III. Submission Method:
1. No registration fee is required. Original works must be submitted.
2. Parents of MFACS students should directly submit original works to the teachers within the school on February 18 (Sunday).
3. Parents outside the school should send submissions by adding the school's WeChat ID "童心之家" on WeChat APP. Prior to joining, please provide the student's name and age. The submission deadline is February 20, 11:59 pm.
4. All parents of participating young authors must fill out the registration form and attach it to the back of the artwork.
四、奖项设置：
1．各年龄组均设有金奖、银奖、铜奖、优秀奖、
2．所有符合投稿要求的参赛作品都将获得奖励和证书。
IV. Awards:
1. We offer multiple awards in each age group: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable, Best Creativity, and Most Popular awards.
2. We offer certificates and award prizes to all qualifying entries. Some outstanding painting and calligraphy works will be exhibited separately.
五、范围分组：
1．幼童组：4 - 7周岁
2．中童组：8 - 11周岁
3．高童组：12 - 16周岁
V. Age Groups:
1．Young Children Group: Ages 4 - 7
2．Middle Children Group: Ages 8-11
3．Teenager Group: Ages 12 - 16
六、 重要日期：
1．投稿截止：2024年2月20日
2．获奖揭晓：2024年2月24日
3．颁奖典礼：2024年5月12日
VI. Important Dates:
1. Submission Deadline: February 20, 2024
2. Announcement of Winners: February 24, 2024
3. Award Ceremony: May 12, 2024
七、 活动声明：
1. 获奖作品使用权归属主办单位，请参赛者积极配合活动宣传。
2. 所有参赛作品原则上不退还，两年内将会参加多次书画展出。
VII. Activity Statement:
1. The right to use award-winning artworks belongs to MFACS. Participants are encouraged to cooperate with our event.
2. All entries are generally non-returnable and may be displayed in multiple painting and calligraphy exhibitions within two years. Entries can be returned upon request two years after the event.
