MFACS Showcases Chinese Culture at the 2026 Madison International Festival

2026年3月7日，童心艺术中文学校应邀协助麦城华人协会（MACCO），参加在麦迪逊著名艺术中心 Overture Center 举办的“2026 International Festival 国际文化节”。作为中国文化展台的重要力量，童心中校在本次大型国际文化交流活动中精彩亮相，向来自世界各地的观众展示了中华传统文化的独特魅力，现场人气高涨、反响热烈。

On March 7, 2026, Madison Fine Arts Chinese School (MFACS) was invited to assist the Madison Area Chinese Community Organization (MACCO) in participating in the 2026 International Festival held at the renowned Overture Center. As an important part of the Chinese cultural exhibition, MFACS made a vibrant appearance at this large-scale international cultural event, showcasing the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture to visitors from around the world. The booth attracted enthusiastic crowds and was warmly received by attendees.

活动当天，童心中校精心打造的“中国文化艺术展台”内容丰富、形式多样，成为全场备受关注的亮点之一。老师们身着传统中式服饰，现场挥毫泼墨展示中国书法，不仅书写了“福”“春”“如意”“马到成功”等吉祥祝福，也为观众们题写中文姓名书签，并将一张张精美的书法作品赠送给现场的孩子和家长。许多国际友人第一次近距离接触中国书法艺术，在老师的讲解中了解汉字之美与文化内涵，纷纷表示新奇又惊喜。

During the event, MFACS carefully designed a “Chinese Cultural Arts Booth” filled with rich and interactive activities, making it one of the highlights of the festival. Our teachers dressed in traditional Chinese attire demonstrated Chinese calligraphy on-site, writing auspicious phrases such as “Fu” (Blessing), “Spring,” “Good Fortune,” and “Success in the Year of the Horse.” They also created personalized Chinese name bookmarks for visitors and gifted beautiful calligraphy works to children and families attending the event. Many international guests experienced Chinese calligraphy up close for the very first time and were fascinated by the beauty of Chinese characters and the cultural meanings behind them.

在国画展示环节中，童心的展台更是吸引了众多不同年龄层的观众们驻足交流。国画老师们在宣纸上现场作画，寥寥数笔便勾勒出灵动的形象，为观众呈现了中国水墨艺术的独特韵味。不少孩子还带走了老师们赠与的龙、花鸟、熊猫等精致的水墨作品。传统中华笔墨艺术在轻松互动中走近大众，也让中华国画美学以更加亲切的方式被理解和欣赏。

The Chinese painting demonstration also attracted visitors of all ages to stop and engage with the booth. Teachers painted live on traditional rice paper, using only a few graceful brushstrokes to create vivid images that showcased the elegance of Chinese ink art. Many children were thrilled to receive delicate ink paintings of dragons, pandas, flowers, and birds as gifts from the teachers. Through these relaxed and interactive experiences, traditional Chinese brush painting became more approachable and deeply appreciated by the public.

展台对面的剪纸体验区同样热闹非凡。老师们展示了造型生动、富有节庆气息的大红色窗花作品，并手把手指导参与者进行剪纸创作。一张红纸、一把剪刀，在翻折与裁剪之间，一幅幅充满童趣与创意的作品跃然眼前。不同文化背景的参与者们在同一空间中互动体验，以中国剪纸连接彼此，在交流与分享中拉近距离，深切感受到中国剪纸文化的喜庆与温暖。

The paper-cutting activity area across from the booth was equally lively and popular. Teachers displayed vibrant red window decorations full of festive spirit and guided participants step by step in creating their own paper-cut artworks. With just a sheet of red paper and a pair of scissors, imaginative and colorful creations came to life. Participants from different cultural backgrounds connected through the shared experience of Chinese paper-cutting, enjoying the warmth, joy, and cultural beauty of this traditional folk art.

本次国际文化节不仅是一场多元文化的交流盛会，更是童心中校诠释“以文化育人”的教育理念，向社区展示教学成果与师资风采的重要平台。能够在这样高规格的国际文化舞台上推广中华传统文化，是一件意义深远的事情。童心中校将继续以一笔一墨、一纸一剪为载体，让更多孩子在体验中爱上中文，在文化中建立认同，让中华文化在更广阔的世界舞台上绽放光彩。

This international festival was not only a celebration of multicultural exchange, but also an important platform for our school to demonstrate its educational philosophy of “teaching through culture” while showcasing its teaching achievements and experienced faculty to the community. Promoting traditional Chinese culture on such a prestigious international stage is both meaningful and inspiring. We will continue using calligraphy, painting, and traditional folk arts as bridges to help more children develop a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture through hands-on experiences, sharing the beauty of Chinese culture with a wider community.
