Dear parents of MFACS,

Happy New Year of 2022!

        The 2022 spring semester of Fine Arts Chinese School will start from this Sunday, January 16!  The spring semester was originally scheduled for normal face-to-face classes. Our teachers have already completed all aspects of class preparation for the start of school and expected to meet all students in the classroom. However, because of the severe outbreak of the recent Omicron pandemic situation, many parents expressed their concerns to us. The principal of Lighthouse Christian School also suggested to MFACS that we should postpone for three weeks before entering their classrooms.

        After many days of careful consideration and discussion among the school board members and teachers, we decided to temporarily convert the first three weeks of face-to-face classes to online classes (using Zoom). We will wait until the pandemic subsides in the next few weeks and then MFACS will resume face-to-face classes from February 6^th. (If the pandemic situation improves sooner, we may also resume face-to-face classes on January 30th) Please pay close attention to the notifications on our website, and feel free to let us know if you have any suggestions or ideas.

        We hope this notice is good news for those parents who are worried about the Omicron outbreak. We also understand that this decision may have disappointed the parents who would like their children to learn face-to-face in the classroom. Please understand that our teachers all hope that we only need two online classes then resume normal classroom learning for the rest of this semester, but we want to see everyone stay healthy and safe. Therefore, we hope all parents can understand it was a hard decision to call for three-weeks online classes in this usual pandemic period.

        Note: Zoom class information will be sent by each classroom teacher by email or Wechat notice. Please pay close attention to the notifications before the scheduled class time.

各位家长们新年好！

        2022年如期而至，我们中文学校在本周日也即将开学了！春季学期原定为正常面授课，各班老师都已完成了各方面的开学准备工作，期待与同学们在学校教室里相见，但最近由于Omicron 的肆虐造成大流行，疫情传播太严重，好多家长有表示担心，灯塔学校负责人也提出建议我们中校推迟三周再进入学校的教室上课。

        我们中文学校经过多天的慎重考虑，全体校董和老师们共同商讨，决定将前三周面对面的课程暂时转为网课，待这波疫情趋缓，学校将于二月六日恢复面对面授课（如果疫情能早点好转，我们也可能在一月三十日就恢复面授课）。请大家一起密切关注，有任何建议和想法请及时告知。

        本学期的这个开学通知，对于担忧疫情的家长来说应该是个好消息，但也会让只想孩子能到学校面对面上课的家长有些失望了。我们中校老师们都希望本学期只需上两次网课就能恢复正常课堂学习，但我们更希望看到大家都能一直健健康康平平安安！非常时期，也希望家长们能理解学校这样的安排，谢谢大家一直以来的支持和配合！
